Supported Winter Programs

We believe that winter camping should be a layered approach. Our new supported programs have been designed to be a simple and safe way for our customers to grow with us. Our programs are designed for beginners, seasoned campers, families and solo campers.

Programs will run Fridays – Sundays two times a month from December to the end of March. (Dates to be decided for the 2020-2021 season)

The Program

Families, friends, couples or solo campers will join our very experienced winter guide (Peter) for the weekend. Peter will have a hot tent set up as a basecamp warming station/ gathering area for the group. You will set your rental tent up in close proximity or if you have some experience and want to go a little further from the group you can. Our basecamp tent will be set up just a short distance from the parking area which allows new winter campers to bring extra clothing layers to experiment with and learn what works. We will review your experience base and comfort level to help develop the most appropriate plan with you.

When booking one of our supported programs we will review your experience and develop the most appropriate plan with you. We will prepare you for what to expect and send an appropriate clothing/personal items list.

General Itinerary:

Programs will run Fridays to Sundays. You can choose to do the full three days or join in on the Saturday. We will meet everyone at the trail head with all of your gear ready to go. There will be opportunities for exploring, learning about winter camping with Peter, solo time or group socializing. You can make your meals on your own at your setup spot or come to the basecamp tent to cook. In the evenings we can gather around the fire or in the hot tent.

Friday – Meet and greet at the trail head. Organize gear and load sleds/pulks. Friday’s focus is setting up the basecamp and tents.

Saturday – Those that are joining on Saturday will have the same days as above. The Friday folks will have the day to use as they wish. Explore, relax, or learn more about winter camping with Peter.

Sunday – Spend the morning exploring or socializing. Pack up starts around noon with a 1-2pm departure.

All of our program packages include a tent system, packing duffel/dry bags, backpacks, snowshoes and sleep systems. At the base hot tent we will have water, hot drinks available and fire wood.
