Algonquin Basecamp Family
Algonquin Basecamp began 25+ years ago, as a tripping company for youth. We have designed, outfitted and guided year round wilderness adventures for various groups and programs in many wilderness areas in Ontario. Fifteen years ago we switched gears and opened up our outfitting shop so that we could share our experience and outfitting services with you. We truly are a family run shop, with the kids and dog in tow most of the time!
Here at the Basecamp, we specialize in complete and partial outfitting. We have a hearty menu selection with fresh and freeze dried food systems. Let our Basecamp, serve as your “Adventure starts here Headquarters!” We are on the West side of Algonquin Park, directly on route to Tim Lake (access #2), Magnetawan Lake (access #3), and Rain lake (access #4), and are only 20 minutes away from Highway 60.
Let us outfit your next canoe trip or join us on a winter camping program. Our little shop has a great selection of gear and our rental and retail lines include: Souris River Canoes, H2O Canoes, Barrel Works Gear, Redtail paddles, GSI, Level Six, NRS, Maps by Jeff and many more. We carry a great selection of tripping gear from canoes, kayaks, paddles, life jackets, tents/tarps, sleeping bags, dry bags, pillows, canoe packs, barrels/harnesses, cook kits / stoves, and much more!
